Abstract
This article explores the tangible and intangible heritage of the Ombilin Coal Mining Heritage of Sawahlunto. This research also seeks to understand the challenges it faces of this site. The research employs a qualitative methodology with a literature review as its primary approach. Data was collected from a variety of sources, including books, official UNESCO documents, journal articles, theses, reports, and online databases. The Ombilin Coal Mining Heritage comprises not only tangible assets such as former mining sites and supporting facilities but also a rich tapestry of intangible cultural heritage. This unique blend of tangible and intangible elements contributes significantly to the region's allure. Despite its cultural significance, the site is exposed to numerous threats, including natural hazards that pose risks to the preservation of its components.
